Prune the Ick Lord

"I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.  He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.  You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.  Remain in me, and I will remain in you.  No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine.  Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me..." John 15:1-4

My prayer on this beautiful morning is that God will cut off branches in me that do not bring glory to Him. Get rid of the ick in me Lord.   Prune my life God so only you can shine, I want fruit Lord,  I want to be like you.

I will remain in you and I know that you are in me, so I will ask and believe that you want to heal me.

Habakkuk complained, "How long, O Lord, must I call for help, but you do not listen? Or cry out to you, "Violence, but you do not save"....why, why, why, Lord???

I know there are times in my life I sound like this!   Sometimes I think the Lord says, "Jen, you are acting like your children and you are so quick to discipline them when they throw tantrums." "Yes Lord,  I am quick to discipline because it is annoying when they do it."

I want my kids to trust me as a parent, to know that I have their best at heart.. The Lord whispers, "Jen, trust me, I love you, stop throwing a fit and believe that I am working for your good!

God replies to Habakkuk, "Look at the nations and watch and be UTTERLY AMAZED. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe even if you were told."

I mean... How often do I say to my kids, "If you obey the first time without complaining you will be blessed!" But I have not said, "You will be Utterly Amazed!" I mean "Kids, your socks will be knocked off by this Blessing!"  Maybe I need to use that line more, but to get back on me and my issues, I need to pull up my big girl panties and ride the storm.

In the midst of the storm is when the pruning takes place.

As I pray, I am asking God with Hope in my heart, that He is going to do something I cannot possibly comprehend, so that only HE gets the glory.

When a tree or bush is overgrown, for it to live and produce fruit, we must cut it back and get rid of the dead debris. The same with our lives, we must step back, pray, get rid of sin, and take up our cross to live.  When we get out of the way, God can do a mighty work in us producing a crop of fruit that can change a nation, a community, or a family.

I believe as we enter the throne of God, we need to have the belief that God is for us and he is doing a mighty work, even if the fruit is still in a seed.
