There was trembling and shaking, "Mommy, I am scared, what if there is a tornado?" " I am here honey," I replied. We are in the basement, now try to go back to sleep." "I cant sleep mom I am too scared." So we remind him that Jesus will never leave us nor forsake us. We tell him that "The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing." Zephaniah 3:19. We rub his hair and sing, "If your worried and you cant sleep just count your blessings instead of sheep and you'll fall asleep counting your blessings." This is one of my favorite songs that comes from the movie "White Christmas." It was a tradition watching it when I was growing up.
There was screaming and crying, "Mommy, it hurts, I cant take a shower, it will burn." I replied, "I know it will hurt, but we need to clean out the germs, I need you to trust me. I know what is best for you. I love you!"
There were tired kids and a tired mommy and there was arguing and whining. There was lack of patience and quick anger. There were tears.

Then came the morning, "Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassion's never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."
Then came the hugs, kisses, and " I am sorry," and then came, " I forgive you." Restoration took place and relationship was renewed.
In Luke 8:24-25 says, "The disciples went and woke him saying, "Master, Master, we are going to drown!
He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waters; the storm subsided, and all was calm. Where is your faith? he asked his disciples.
Storms in life will come, whether it is a storm outside or inside the home, or even a storm within ourselves. What will we do with the rage inside of each one of us? Are we prepared to meet the storm by putting on the full armor of God? We are not promised an easy life, but we are promised an eternal life if we put our faith in Jesus Christ.
I am so thankful for this promise this morning! With Jesus we can conquer the storm over and over again! Where is your faith my friends? Jesus is, "The Calm after the Storm."
