Wow, church really spoke to me today. I really felt like the sermon was just for me! Do any of you ever feel that way? It was about not giving up and taking risks and letting God lead. Letting God be in control, even when we don't see how it is possible. There are certain things in our family that we have been praying for and feel called to do, but there is always something holding us back. I wonder if we have fully surrendered this to Christ? Are we as a family giving it to God and letting him work his plan or are we saying, "It will never happen due to this......?" I do fully trust the Lord, but I can be a very black and white person. I see what I see now and I put God in a box, not because I want to, but certain things have always been and even though I do believe and have the faith God can change it, I find myself questioning.
Today my friends my husband and I have completely surrendered our lives and this situation to the Lord. We have come together, we have prayed, we believe that God will answer. We do not know how it is possible, but we do know " that with God ALL things are possible." We know what our circumstances look like now, but we know that God wants the desires of our hearts. We believe in a God that is bigger than we will ever understand. God moves mountains and allows even the smallest of a man to kill a giant. He showed Gideon when he questioned Gods plan. Gideon said, "...give me a sign that it is really you talking to me..., If you will save Israel by my hand as you have promised look, I will place a wool fleece on the threshing floor. If there is dew only on the fleece and all the ground is dry, then I will know that you will save Israel by my hand, as you said." "And that is what happened.... Then Gideon said to God, Do not be angry with me. Let me make just one more request. Allow me one more test with the fleece, but this time make the fleece dry and let the ground be covered with dew.... That night God did so."
Folks this is what I do! Lord I hear you, but just one more time. This is what happened when we started homeschooling. We heard God call us, but we prayed and asked for direction and questioned his plan for 1 1/2 yrs and finally my husband said, "Jen, if we do not follow through with this we are disobeying God." So we told a school that we love we were going to home school! We took the road less traveled, but the narrow road is the way Christ wants his children to take.
When God speaks we need to listen folks! Sometimes God says yes and sometimes he says no, and sometimes we just need to pray and wait, but God will answer in his time and in his way. We need to be in the word listening for the holy spirit and trusting God to work in our lives!
