On this rainy cozy night I am printing turkey pages off of Education.com so this week can be a "Turkey Celebration!" We will read Thanksgiving stories about the pilgrims and Indians, and prepare for our family dinner. This is the first year that we have no where to go on Thursday so Tough Guy and I will start the day with a jog and our little family will all help prepare our feast. I am excited to just "be!" I have never made a turkey before so it will be interesting to see how it turns out. I am a little nervous about it, but if nothing else at least we will have stuffing, corn casserole, green bean casserole, and mashed potatoes (my favorite part)!
We have a routine of going around the table and saying something we are thankful for. Tough Guy asked if this year we could write 500 things we are thankful for. We may have to add that into our school day.
We also have printable leaves with Bible verses on them and we attach the paper leaves to sticks in a vase and make a thankful tree.
I love this time of year when we can enjoy each other and focus on God and all he has given us and done for us. I love to give God glory. I am so thankful for all the blessings he gives me every day including the air that I breathe.
